Monarch Park just got brighter! This contemporary Renovation with a colourful flare incorporates lovely modern interiors, beautiful neighbourhood views and lots of light.

Design placed a special focus on connecting spaces, enlarged rooms and large windows to bring in light & serene outdoor views.  A new 3rd floor addition to this 100 year old row house was necessary to create additional living area for a growing family.  Housing the new Master bedroom and private balcony, the new floor offers high privacy and spectacular views of the fronting park.  The ground floor existing addition was removed to add more real estate to backyard, creating room for a new deck.  The large slab window now fills the home with light while creating access and flow to the patio, a favorite area of the homeowners.

In creating this contemporary interior, Upside’s designers gutted and remodeled the existing interior, working to create a continuous open concept. The stunning outdoor brick was preserved, and restored to incorporate all new windows lines. The exterior rejuvenation also includes new metal cladding on the second floor addition. Another conversation piece of the home is a preserved accent wall inside the powder room. Hosting five layers of the old brick, the blue parging and scuff marks were preserved and sealed into the wall, serving as art that captures the history and many stories of the home in its time.  Additional features include an open concept master en-suite, airy hardwood flooring and potlights throughout, balancing the homeowner’s vision of a vibrant home with contemporary design.

The balance of sleek simplicity with bold touches was achieved by Upside Development’s design and construction team.  This home has been the talk of the neighbourhood.
