Upside Development, a Toronto based boutique development company, is seeking an experienced Construction Supervisor for residential and commercial projects.

The Supervisor will be responsible for supporting operations by providing coordination, administration, and site supervision on multiple projects as required in an organized manner. It is an expectation this individual is efficient, resourceful, detail oriented, customer service oriented and has the ability to function effectively as part of a team or independently. Also required to have excellent time management, organizational and multi-tasking skills coupled with an ability to be proactive and problem solve as required.


• Planning and directing all aspects of the project including preparing tender packages, contract awards, scheduling, budgeting, daily activity logging, supervision, and project accounting (i.e., payment tracking, change orders)

• Supervision of site construction activities to ensure project completion according to plans and within objectives set by project schedule and budget.

• Prepare and review contracts to ensure scopes of work and schedules are accurate and feasible

• Responsible for ensuring Occupational Health & Safety standards on site

• Scheduling, onboarding, screening and managing trades; working to ensure strong trade relations with existing partners and fostering relationships with potential partners

• Sourcing, coordinating, ordering supplies and materials on time and on budget; pick up and drop off supplies as required to facilitate job

• Communication with office to manage administrative tasks

• Maintain positive relationship with clients, including escalation of issues when appropriate

• Acting as a mentor and positive example to junior site supervisory personnel

• Daily site supervision of trades and quality control; preparation of jobsite for trades

• Coordinate occupancy and turnover of building with all other team members, ensuring smooth transition of project and documentation.

• Coordinate and meet regularly with project team to ensure execution of contract requirements are met and advise Project Manager when deviations from planned performance occur.

• Regular travel may be required - project dependent


• Post-secondary education in Architecture or Engineering is an asset

• At least 5 years of or construction experience in a construction management capacity

• Practical experience dealing with contract administration and other construction documents

• Strong leadership and time management skills

• A strong familiarity with reading blueprints, architectural and engineering standards and building practices, including City of Toronto and GTA building codes

• Intermediate to advanced computer skills

• Highly organized with exceptional time management skills

• Results oriented with proven ability to plan, organize and prioritize to meet deadlines.

• High level of motivation, integrity and commitment.

• Strong customer service skills

• A valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle
